Natural gas is an important clean energy resource that is found along with petroleum or also separately. Gas is used as a source of energy and as an industrial raw material for the petrochemical industry. Huge reserves of natural gas have been discovered in the Krishna Godavari river basin. The Mumai High and adjoining areas along the west cost complement the oil fields found in the Gulf of Khambhat.
